Know your salary expectation — and why

If you say "whatever is standard" you look either unprepared or desperate. Do this instead: research the market rate on LinkedIn Salary, Glassdoor, or Naukri for your role and city. Pick a range where your target is the lower end. When asked, say: "Based on my X years of experience and market research, I am looking at ₹Y–Z. I am open to discussion based on the full package." Confident and flexible is the winning combination.
