The government has announced a new HR policy for the real estate sector, aiming to improve worker welfare and skill development. The policy, which is set to be implemented from June 1, 2026, will provide benefits like health insurance, pension, and training programs for construction workers.

According to the policy, developers will be required to provide a minimum wage of ₹25,000 per month to workers, and will also have to contribute 10% of their payroll towards worker welfare funds. The policy is expected to benefit over 1 million construction workers in the country, with a significant portion of them being employed in cities like Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Thane.

Companies like Tata Housing and Mahindra Lifespaces are already implementing the policy, with average salaries for roles like Site Engineer and Project Manager ranging from ₹8-15 LPA.
